The New York Technical Services Librarians (NYTSL), established in 1923, is one of the oldest regional groups associated with ALA/ALCTS. Our organization brings together librarians and information professionals with similar interests, who discuss ideas and practices, and contribute their energy and knowledge toward mutually beneficial activities. Two dinner meetings take place each year (Fall and Spring). These meetings assist in the professional development of our members and feature a speaker addressing current issues of interest to librarians in technical services and systems. NYTSL dinner meetings are supported by dinner fees and generous corporate memberships. This support by corporations enables NYTSL to invite several library school students to attend these meetings as our guests. NYTSL's annual spring reception, co-sponsored with other professional groups in the region, is an opportunity for new professionals and library school students to meet active librarians involved in a variety of library and information careers. |
